Lately I've been going through a bit of a creative phase, trying different craftworks, looking for things that particularly appeal to me and that I can learn more about and develop my skills further on.
Obviously my predominant creative outlet at the moment is my Creative Writing, since this is what I am studying fulltime at University, I have a couple of projects I am working on steadily and hope to have completed some time in the foreseeable future, though some projects (most notably Sphere of Eternity) have had repeated pushbacks due to various reasons. The biggest issue with Creative Writing is obviously trying to get people to actually pick up the work and READ it. If you can't get people to read the work, they won't tell anyone about how good or bad it is, you don't get any feedback and you can't progess your work any further.
As some of you no doubt know, I got into soapcrafting and making other bodycare products during 2013, this was moderately successful and went well enough that I was able to actually sell some of my wares, plus has kept my attention sufficiently that I want to expand my horizons, such as going to weekend markets to try to sell my products and try to get more online sales in the long run.
Third (and this is definitely a more recent interest) I have started getting into making Chainmaille products. While I have only made a couple of things so far, I find it enjoyable since it is something that I can just sit down at the table, relax and focus on the task at hand (and you NEED to be able to focus on the job, considering the rings can be absolutely TINY at times, as little as 4mm in size) Again, this is something I would like to develop further, but it is extremely time consuming and rather slow-going. Probably not something that I would take up on an overly long-term basis without knowing that there would be something positive to come out of it, such as potential sales of my goods.
Anyhow, it is 3.20am, so bed calls and I must answer. I know this entry is fairly short, but I will make another entry when I can. I'm trying to make updates on a somewhat regular basis (and am managing with some level of success), ideally I hope to update at least once a week, as long as I have something worthwhile to write about.
